Studio Update

There is nothing better than a room full of beautiful flowers. My studio is filled with them right now, well paintings of them, and it makes my soul so happy! A little something you may not know about me is that I have created numerous floral bouquets over the years for many weddings and other occasions. I LOVE making floral arrangements. I love it so much, in fact, that my husband knows that I prefer to pick out my own flowers on Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day and make my own arrangements. It is a completely different experience painting flowers verses arranging them, but it is equally satisfying. Here are a few shots of before and after adding color for you to enjoy!

I must agree with Claude Monet, who is known to have said, “I must have flowers, always and always.” Do you have a favorite flower? I guess for me it is the variety of bold colors and textures that I love. It’s like choosing a favorite color, it’s so hard to just pick one! Tulips, ranunculus, dahlias and snapdragons are a few that I can’t resist! I guess it’s safe to say, flowers will always be inspiration in my studio. Even better if I have a vase of fresh ones by my easel.
